1. K9 Nosework™

K9 Nosework™ is a scent detection sport inspired by working detection dogs. It is a fun, engaging activity where dogs learn to search for and identify specific odors (usually essential oils like birch, anise, and clove) hidden in various environments. It promotes mental stimulation and uses the dog’s natural scenting abilities. This activity can be done with dogs of all breeds, ages, and abilities, promoting confidence, focus, and a strong bond between dog and handler.

2. AKC STAR Puppy

AKC STAR Puppy (Socialization, Training, Activity, Responsibility) is a program offered by the American Kennel Club (AKC) designed for puppies and their owners to develop good behavior at a young age. It is the foundation for other AKC training programs and focuses on proper socialization, basic obedience skills, and responsible ownership. To earn the AKC STAR Puppy certification, owners must attend a class and pass a simple test with their puppy.

3. AKC Fit Dog

AKC Fit Dog is a fitness and wellness program for dogs and their owners. Its aim is to promote an active and healthy lifestyle by encouraging regular exercise. The AKC offers a Fit Dog Club program and challenges that recognize participation in fitness-related activities, such as walking or running with your dog. The program helps ensure dogs stay physically and mentally stimulated while improving their overall health.

4. AKC CGC (Canine Good Citizen)

AKC CGC is a widely recognized training program that promotes good manners and behavior in dogs. The Canine Good Citizen test evaluates the dog’s ability to follow basic commands, behave well around people and other dogs, and exhibit calmness in public. It’s often considered the first step for dogs entering therapy, service, or advanced training programs. The CGC certification demonstrates that the dog is a well-behaved and socially reliable companion.
