Intro to K9 Nose Work- 

Open to dogs who have not been previously introduced to odor

This BEGINNER 1 class introduces teams the concept of the game, builds handler observations skills and timing and develops the dog’s confidence and timing.  K9 Nose Work classes start with the dog searching for their food or toy to build their independent searching ability and to develop the handler’s skills.  This class is designed to build the dog’s desire to play the game and for the handler to develop good teamwork with their dog.   All dogs are required to be created when they are not actively searching.

Intro to K9 Nose Work – (Level 2)

Open to dogs who have not been previously introduced to odor and who have taken the prerequisite

This BEGINNER 2 class introduces teams to more complex searching skills and skill building while remaining on primary. This may include, elevation, suspended vehicles, exterior and or other environmental changes.

Intro to Odor (Nose Work)-

Open to dogs who have taken the Intro to K9 Nose Work prerequisite class

This class builds on the Intro to K9 Nose Work course , but with odor. Typically the first target odor (Birch) is used during this course.  The concept of pairing is introduced, which serves to condition the dog to odor and allows them to develop good sourcing skills through self-reward.
